The Helping Out Mecklenburg homeowners with Economic Support (HOMES) Program returns for another season, which began July 1, 2024. Mecklenburg County is partnering again with the City of Charlotte to help homeowners struggling with the rising costs of living.

While residents are planning their freshwater adventures, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services encourages them to also stay mindful of water conditions.

As of today, Friday, July 8, Mecklenburg County is once again at CDC COVID-19 Community Level Medium/Yellow after just one week at COVID-19 Community Level Low/Green.  

The Queen Anne styled Overcarsh House in Fourth Ward is one of uptown Charlotte’s two oldest homes. 

Applications for the HOMES Program have been coming in and so far, thousands have benefitted from the support.  The program provides economic assistance grants of up to $660 for qualifying homeowners.

The Helping Out Mecklenburg homeowners with Economic Support program (HOMES) has awarded more than $2.5 million in grant funding to homeowners since the program opened for this year on July 1–and there is still time for qualifying homeowners to apply.
