Mecklenburg County recognizes the value existing businesses bring to our community by providing jobs and capital investments. The Existing Industry Program provides support and resources to the employers of Mecklenburg County.
Mission: To proactively connect with manufacturers, headquarters and distribution to understand and respond to local business needs and to retain these companies in the county as they grow and expand.
The Existing Industry program provides services and support to businesses in the following areas:

- Assistance with permitting and zoning
- Grant funding assistance

- Sourcing supply chain connections, locally and regionally
- ISO certification assistance
- Six Sigma & lean training resources

- Rail assistance and rail infrastructure grants
- Accessing lighting, HVAC, industrial equipment rebates
- Assistance with water, wastewater and storm water
concerns - Connection to State programs for environmental concerns, brownfields and more
