Tax Office Seeking Bidders for Delinquent Properties

Photo of Mecklenburg CountyMecklenburg County property owners who have not paid their real property tax bills may have their properties marketed on the Office of the Tax Collector’s new foreclosure web page

The affected delinquent taxpayers will be mailed a notice on Sept. 12, 2017 to notify them that their properties are listed on an interactive foreclosure map search tool. The properties have been listed online for the purpose of soliciting bidders to acquire the property through the tax foreclosure process. Information about properties subject to foreclosure can be accessed by visiting to launch the foreclosure map search tool.

Taxpayers whose property is subject to foreclosure action can avoid a possible tax foreclosure suit, the associated expenses, and the possible loss of property by paying the taxes due in full. If a foreclosure suit is in process, specific payment deadlines established in court apply.
