Revaluation notices will be mailed to nearly 400,000 Mecklenburg County property owners beginning this Wednesday, Jan. 23. In addition, MeckReval.com, the property assessment website, will be updated with the new values starting Thursday.
County Manager Dena R. Diorio says the Mecklenburg County Assessor’s Office is fully staffed and ready to assist all property owners. The notice has instructions on what taxpayers need to do if they have questions or would like to proceed with an informal review or file a formal appeal.
“I want to thank Assessor Ken Joyner and his team for getting us to this point,” said County Manager Dena R. Diorio. “A lot of hard work has gone into this revaluation and the Assessor’s Office is committed to providing the highest level of customer service to our residents.”
In addition, the Assessor’s Office has six listening sessions scheduled for February. We are finalizing dates and locations and will announce details soon.
This is the first Countywide property revaluation in Mecklenburg County since 2011.
