Camping season is happening now, but please refrain from recycling those propane or camp-gas cylinders in your curbside recycling. Yes, we realize those cylinders are metal, however, the explosive gas that remains in the can will explode when our process of recycling bales the metal together. So, how do you get rid of them?
Please bring these cylinders to one of Mecklenburg County’s full-service Recycling and Disposal Centers, where we can process them safely. We have had several fires at our MRF recently, and they have been related to small camping type propane cylinders. Please help protect our workers involved in recycling by disposing of these items correctly.
If you have any questions about these types of acceptable items, please visit www.WipeOutWaste.com or email email@example.com.
