​Annual Hummingbird Festival Set for Saturday 


HummingbirdHummingbirds are among the smallest birds in the world, and on Aug. 24, you will be able to get a close-up view of the tiny creatures at Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s annual Hummingbird Festival. The free event will take place at Reedy Creek Nature Center, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine.
Bring the entire family and enjoy a day of activities, while learning amazing facts about hummingbirds. It is recommended to arrive early as the best time to see hummingbirds is between 9 – 11:30 a.m.
