Mecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed on Tues., Wed., and Thurs., Dec. 24 - 26, 2019 for the Christmas holiday and on Wed., Jan.1, 2020 for New Year's Day.
This includes all units of the Department of Social Services, the Tax Office, Elections Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency offices.
The Department of Social Services hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect. To report abuse of seniors or the disabled, call 704-336-CARE (2273). To report abuse, neglect or human trafficking of children, call 980-31-HELPS (43577).
The Health Department will be closed Dec. 24 - 26, 2019 and Jan.1, 2020.
The Main Library and all library branches will be closed Dec. 24 - 26. All facilities will close at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and remain closed on Jan.1, 2020.
Solid Waste administrative offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, 2019 and Jan.1, 2020. All Solid Waste facilities will close at noon on Dec. 24 and remain closed on Christmas Day. They will reopen normal hours on Dec. 26. All solid waste facilities will be closed on New Year's Day.
Park and Recreation administrative offices, along with all Recreation, Senior and Nature Centers will be closed Dec. 24 - 26 and Jan.1.
The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center and Ray's Splash Planet will be closed Dec. 24 and 25. Both will operate holiday hours on Dec. 26. These facilities will also close at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and be closed on Jan.1, 2020.
The Marion Diehl Recreation Center is currently closed for renovations.
CharMeck 311 will be closed on Dec. 24 and 25.
