Mecklenburg County and its partners offer multiple services to make sure residents facing food insecurity have access to nutritious meals and groceries.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP )
Get information on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Call 704-336-3000.
Community Resources Centers
Visit the Valerie C. Woodard Center (3205 Freedom Drive), Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center (430 Stitt Road), or the Catherine M. Wilson Center (301 Bilingsley Road) for assistance with food resources.
Holiday Meals by Nourish Up
Nourish Up will be distributing turkeys or turkey breasts and holiday boxes or bags with sides from Saturday, Nov. 15 – Wednesday, Nov. 26 at full-size 7-day pantries as well as holiday food shares.
A referral is needed to visit a pantry, but residents can self-register for food shares. Navigate to the "Find Food" button at the top of the Nourish Up page to learn more.
Senior Citizen Nutrition Program
The Senior Citizens Nutrition Program offers congregate meal service for seniors at locations across the county, a home delivered meal service for homebound seniors, and the Mobile Market program which distributes groceries and fresh produce to eligible seniors in their neighborhoods. Call 980-314-7788 for more information.

Every January, volunteers span out across Charlotte-Mecklenburg streets, parking lots, encampments, and other locations to survey people who are living without shelter and connect them to resources. It’s the annual Point in Time Count and is scheduled to take place Jan. 22, 2026.

To begin the process of conducting the survey and recruiting volunteers, Mecklenburg County and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Continuum of Care held a kick-off event on Nov. 12, 2025.

Food donation boxes are at designated Park and Recreation and Library locations to support local food pantries.
