Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department recognizes and values the strong connection between our communities and our parks. Often citizens desire to memorialize those we have lost by honoring their memory within a park space. The Memorial Program is designed to allow those we have lost to be memorialized in the following two ways:
Memorial Benches: $1,500.00 (*Placard inlay must be blank and available for dedication)
Mecklenburg County now utilizes a standard design for all metal benches within the parks.
A sample picture of the bench is located below:

These benches are manufactured with an inlay space to be utilized for a memorial placard. The cost to purchase a memorial bench is $1,500.00 and includes a placard with a maximum of 3 lines of text.
Only existing benches with an open placard space will be available for purchase and dedication.
Once the desired bench has been identified, please complete and submit the
Memorial Program Application.pdf The respective park region manager will contact you to confirm the location and schedule the payment.
Memorial Bricks: $50.00 each

Memorial Bricks may be purchased and placed in designated Memorial Walkways located in the park region of your choice. Bricks will be installed twice a year, once in the spring, and once in the fall.
