Senior Citizens Nutrition Program
Food in the form of nutritiously balanced meals are available to both homebound clients and mobile seniors through the Mecklenburg County Senior Citizens Nutrition Program (SCNP) Frequently Asked Questions

Congregate Meal Program:
Hot, nutritious meals are served to qualifying seniors Monday - Friday at 16 dining sites throughout Mecklenburg County.

Home Delivered Meal Program:
Nutritionally balanced meals are available at no cost to seniors who are unable to leave their homes due to illness, disability or frailty.

Short Term Homebound Meal Program:
Service targets Mecklenburg County senior adults 60 and over who become temporarily homebound and need meal service for a short period of time (maximum of 12 weeks).

Supplemental Meal Program:
Program provides a liquid nutritional supplement such as Ensure to senior citizens under the care of a physician. Senior citizens who have a medical need receive the product on a monthly basis.
