The Integrated Data Store (IDS) is a collection of databases from various administrative systems that are stored and accessed from one location. The IDS currently contains data from The Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement and the County Sheriff’s Department. Additional datasets from other departments will also be incorporated into the IDS over time.
Data contained in the IDS is updated on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and provides you with a "snapshot" of the activity recorded on the above specified host systems. You will access the data through a standard web-based reporting system. If you have a fairly standard set of requirements, the IDS system can provide you with groups of pre-defined reports that are accessed by an Internet browser.
Example Reports consist of: Building Permit Queries and Reports, Certificate of Occupancy Query and Report, and Sheriff’s Arrest Query and Report

Mecklenburg County GIS also hosts an Open Data Portal called Open Mapping in which the public can browse for and download GIS Mapping layers called shapefiles (zipped) for personal use.
Please note: Shapefiles are comprised of multiple files. The DBF file of a shapefile can be loaded into excel and viewed if map data viewing capabilities are not needed. To view the downloaded data as spatially mapped, you must have access to GIS software locally on your PC. To Enter the Open Mapping System: Click Here
