The site is located 6.4 kilometers (4.0 miles) north of the central business district of Charlotte, North Carolina. The site elevation is 224 meters. The monitor is located in a large grass field between two baseball fields at Friendship Park. The monitoring objective of the Friendship Park station is to measure PM2.5 concentrations in an area of high population density. Data from this site is used to assess compliance with the
National Ambient Air Quality Standardsof the pollutants listed above.
