FY2019 Community Survey Results

2019-community-survey-preview

Each year Mecklenburg County conducts the Community Survey, a public opinion poll to assess awareness and perceptions of County services. The 2019 Community Survey represents the seventeenth year that residents have been asked for their feedback in this way. The presentation (downloadable above) contains trend data and some benchmark questions that compare Mecklenburg County results to national survey results. This year’s survey posed new questions to residents about perceptions of racial equity and awareness of the Meck Pre-K program. A detailed report on the FY2019 survey is also available for download (above). The full report includes a breakdown of responses for each question, including crosstabs by several groups. New this year is an interactive dashboard that allows for exploration of the data and trends. That dashboard is here.

In 2015, the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners approved its revised Community Vision summarized by the tag line: Mecklenburg County will be a community of pride and choice for people to LIVE, LEARN, WORK, and RECREATE. The four tenets of the Community Vision helped set the groundwork for the County’s Corporate Strategic Business Plan to include goal areas, outcomes, key performance indicators and key initiatives for FY2017-FY2019. The Corporate Strategic Business Plan reflects the County’s most important work for the next three years and considers the organizational and community priorities.
