October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is nationally recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month - a time to honor the memory of those who have lost their lives at the hands of their abusers and celebrate all survivors of intimate partner violence. Mecklenburg County has several events planned including free training sessions, a candlelight vigil, golf tournaments, benefit concerts, an awareness march and a volleyball tournament.
You can view the full calendar at http://DVAM.Charmeck.org.

Park and Recreation Rolls Out Text-to-Subscribe Service
As part of an effort to “go digital,” the Capital Planning division of the Park and Recreation Department has implemented a text-to-subscribe service. The service will allow the public to subscribe to receive meeting information and project progress via text message.
Combining this communication method with social media and email marketing will help Capital Planning reach a broader audience and keep them informed.
They are the first in Charlotte-Mecklenburg to utilize this service offered by our digital communications platform, GovDelivery.
County services are operating at a limited capacity. Questions about COVID-19? Call Public Health Hotline: 980-314-9400
