It is important that our system works faster and better for victims -- that victims are protected and receive the services they need, and that batterers are held accountable and cease their abusive behavior. For this reason, Mecklenburg County operates under a coordinated community responsel; a response that engages the entire community in efforts to protect victims and enforce intolerance of domestic violence.
To ensure a consistent implementation of a coordinated and collaborative community response to domestic violence the Domestic Violence Community Leadership Team was created.
Formed in 2007, the DVCLT CCR is a partnership between government, health and human services providers, educational institutions, the private sector and the faith community that brings together people from diverse backgrounds to: raise awareness about domestic violence, focus on preventing domestic violence, and follow the community domestic violence strategic action plan.
