The County Manager Dena Diorio made the decision to realign some of the counties services, and the PSO was affected by this change. On a very positive note, the Substance Use services still exist, they are just managed as follows:
Substance Use Treatment Services and Comprehensive Clinical Assessment services currently provided in Jail Central, Jail North, the Men’s and Women’s shelters are now part of Community Support Services (CSS).
Services provided by the Mecklenburg County Substance Abuse Services Center transitioned to Anuvia, a non-county operated facility. Anuvia Prevention and Recovery Services is the new contracted provider for Substance Use Detoxification and Residential Treatment Services.
These services were transitioned with no interruption in services received. In fact, as a client, you should not see any difference in your services. Should you have questions, feel free to contact Yvonne Ward at 704.617.3401.
