Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What information may I find in your Property Info/Modria section?

The Property Info/Modria section of our website will allow you to review the dimensions, sketch, permits, assessed value, and other information about properties within Mecklenburg County. If you find discrepancies in your property information, you may file an inquiry. Your inquiry will be routed to an Assessor’s Office staff member, and open direct lines of communication. You will be able to track your inquiry, request a field visit, add additional information, and communicate easily via email with the Assessor’s Office.

If your inquiry is about valuation, you will be routed to Comper Sales Search to view sales within your neighborhood. Within Comper, you may refine your search, attach sales to your inquiry, and print those sales for your use. Sales attachments will be available for viewing within Modria in 24 hours.

Q. How long until I hear from the CAO staff about my inquiry?

Please allow two (2) business days for the Assessor’s Office staff to respond to your inquiry.

Q. Will Modria allow me to file an Assessment Appeal on my property?

Yes, during the filing period for Board of Equalization and Review appeals, Modria will allow online filing of Assessment Appeal. The annual filing periods begin on January 1st of each year, and ends when the Board of Equalization and Review adjourns, which is typically no later than the third Monday in May. For more information regarding appeals, please go to Appeals on our main page, under the Customer Service heading.
