Mecklenburg County District 2 Commissioner Vilma D. Leake held her third “A Cry for Education and District 2 Community Concerns” town hall meeting on Thursday, Sept. 7 at Steele Creek A.M.E. Zion Church.
During the meeting, residents were able to talk with County, State and CMS representatives about their community concerns and provide their feedback on the quality of education, the education bond referendum process and the potential for addressing school capacity. Rep. Mary Belk discussed recent state decisions around districting in Mecklenburg County. Manager Diorio talked about the County's recently approved FY19-23 capital improvement plan, and answered questions about County services.
Commissioner Leake will host a town hall meeting for seniors Oct. 19 at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.
