​County Announces Closings for Good Friday

Mecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed on Friday, April 19, 2019 for the Good Friday holiday.

This includes all units of the Department of Social Services, the Tax Office, Elections Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency offices. 

The Department of Social Services hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect. To report abuse of seniors or the disabled, call 704-336-CARE (2273). To report abuse, neglect or human trafficking of children, call 980-31-HELPS (43577).  

The Health Department will be closed on Friday, April 19, 2019. 

The Main Library and all library branches will be closed on Friday, April 19 and Sunday, April 21. 2019. They will be open regular hours on Sat., April 20.   

Solid Waste administrative offices  will be closed on Friday, April 19. All Solid Waste facilities will be open 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 19 & 20. 

Park and Recreation administrative offices will be closed on Friday, April 19, 2019.  Recreation and Senior Centers will be open on Good Friday. Contact the facility for hours of operation. Nature Centers will be open regular hours.  

All Mecklenburg County Aquatic facilities will operate holiday hours. Ray's Splash Planet will open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Marion Diehl Center and Pool will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Easter Sunday, recreation and senior centers, aquatic facilities and all nature centers will be closed. 

City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services will provide collection services on a regular schedule the week of April 19, 2019. If you are in a town, please check with your local service for a collection schedule. 

As a reminder, CharMeck 311 is open and available to the public Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
