Mecklenburg County government offices and agencies will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 25-26, 2017 for the Christmas holiday and Monday, Jan. 1, 2018 for New Year’s Day.
This includes all units of the Department of Social Services, the Tax Office, Elections Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency offices.
The Department of Social Services hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect. To report abuse of seniors or the disabled, call 704-336-CARE (2273). To report abuse, neglect or human trafficking of children, call 980-31-HELPS (43577).
The Health Department will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 25-26, 2017 and Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.
The Main Library and all library branches will be closed Dec. 24-26, 2017 and Jan. 1-2, 2018.
All Solid Waste facilities will be closed on Saturday, Dec.23 and Monday, Dec. 25. All Solid Waste facilities will reopen for regular hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m.). All Solid Waste facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan.1, 2018.
Park and Recreation administrative offices, Recreation and Senior Centers and Grayson Skate Park will be closed Dec. 24-26, 2017 and Jan. 1, 2018.
Nature Centers will close on Dec. 24-25. They will be open on Dec. 26 and New Year’s Day.
The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will operate holiday hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Dec. 26. It will be open regular hours on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017 and close on New Year’s Day.
The Marion Diehl Recreation Center will be closed Dec. 24-26, operate regular hours on Dec. 31, 2017 and be closed on New Year’s Day. As a reminder, CharMeck 311 is open and available to the public Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
