Charlotte-Mecklenburg Continuum of Care Seeks Governing Board Applicants

homeless person on benchThe Charlotte-Mecklenburg Continuum of Care (CoC) Governing Board is looking for members to help coordinate and lead the County's effort to end homelessness and expand affordable housing.

Since August, Mecklenburg County Community Support Services (CSS) has led a broad community engagement process to develop a new Continuum of Care Governance Charter and vision to guide the Board's efforts.

The CoC includes all of Mecklenburg County and enables the County and the City of Charlotte promote the CoC coordinate across the housing continuum and help more individuals and families find sustainable housing.

The CoC Governance Charter identifies the purpose, responsibilities and oversight of the CoC. The work of the CoC is mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is designed to promote communitywide commitment to the goal of ending and preventing homelessness as well as providing funding, oversight, planning and evaluation of housing-related services. Organizations and individuals who work with the homeless and those needing affordable housing can apply.
