COVID-19 Update on United House of Prayer for All People Convocation Events

Updated information 11/19/20-  Public Health has identified 213 cases of COVID-19 among attendees and close contacts. Among those are 203 Mecklenburg County residents, 4 Iredell County residents, 5 Gaston County resident, and 1 Cabarrus County resident. At least 12 cases were hospitalized due to their infection. There have been 12 deaths -- 10 Mecklenburg County residents and 2 Gaston County resident. Public Health has attempted to contact at least 294 close contacts of confirmed cases – all of which have completed monitoring connected with this exposure.

Updated information 11/10/20-  Public Health has identified 208 cases of COVID-19 among attendees and close contacts. Among those are 199 Mecklenburg County residents, 4 Iredell County residents, 4 Gaston County resident, and 1 Cabarrus County resident. At least 11 cases were hospitalized due to their infection. There have been 9 deaths -- 8 Mecklenburg County residents and 1 Gaston County resident – and 1 additional death is under investigation. Public Health has attempted to contact at least 294 close contacts of confirmed cases.

No additional cases were reported among residents or staff at Madison Saint Paradise Senior Living.

Updated information 11/4/20 - Public Health has identified 187 cases of COVID-19 among attendees and close contacts. Among those are 179 Mecklenburg County residents, 4 Iredell County residents, 4 Gaston County resident, and 1 Cabarrus County resident. At least 11 cases were hospitalized due to their infection. There have been 8 deaths -- 7 Mecklenburg County residents and 1 Gaston County resident. Public Health has attempted to contact at least 269 close contacts of confirmed cases.

No additional cases were reported among residents or staff at Madison Saint Paradise Senior Living.

Updated information 10/30/20– Public Health has identified 181 cases of COVID-19 among attendees and close contacts. Among those are 172 Mecklenburg County residents, 4 Iredell County residents, 4 Gaston County resident, and 1 Cabarrus County resident. At least 10 cases were hospitalized due to their infection. There have been 6 deaths -- 5 Mecklenburg County residents and 1 Gaston County resident. Public Health has attempted to contact at least 262 close contacts of confirmed cases.

No additional cases were reported among residents or staff at Madison Saint Paradise Senior Living. There is only one case connected to this event and the cluster at White Oak Manor. The staff person has not worked since attending the event.

Updated information as of 10/26/20 - Public Health has identified 143 cases of COVID-19 connected with attendees at the convocation events held 10/4 – 10/11. Among those are 137 Mecklenburg County residents, 4 Iredell County residents, 1 Gaston County resident, and 1 Cabarrus County resident. At least 7 cases were hospitalized due to their infection. There have been 5 deaths -- 4 Mecklenburg County residents and 1 Gaston County resident. The cluster at Madison Saints Paradise South Senior Living has increased to 19 confirmed cases – 16 residents and 3 staff. Public Health has attempted to contact at least 192 close contacts of confirmed cases.

Public Health advises anyone who attended events at the church Oct. 4 - Oct. 11 or who has been in contact with someone who attended events at the church on the dates mentioned above get tested for COVID-19. If you have COVID-19 like symptoms, please avoid close contact with anyone.

Public Health has notified several local health departments in California, District of Columbia, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina to monitor for potential cases connected to these events based on information obtained during case investigations.

Updated information 10/23/2020 - There are 99 COVID-19 cases in Mecklenburg County and 2 COVID-19 cases in Iredell County currently linked to the convocation events that took place 10/4-10/11. There are at least 3 deaths and 1 cluster of 12 residents at a senior living community, Madison Saints Paradise South Senior Living, are connected with this outbreak. Public Health has attempted to contact more than 137 close contacts of the 99 confirmed cases.

Updated information 10/22/2020 - There are 82 COVID-19 cases currently linked to the convocation events that took place 10/4-10/11. At least 5 hospitalizations, 3 deaths and 1 cluster of 8 residents at a senior living community, Madison Saints Paradise South Senior Living, are connected with this outbreak. Public Health has attempted to contact 131 close contacts of the 82 confirmed cases. At least 127 individuals were tested at today’s testing event.

Public Health advises anyone who attended events at the church Oct. 4 - Oct. 11 or who has been in contact with someone who attended events at the church on the dates mentioned above get tested for COVID-19. If you have COVID-19 like symptoms, please avoid close contact with anyone. In partnership with StarMed Health, Mecklenburg County Public Health will be offering no cost, drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow Friday, Oct. 23 at the Northwest Health Department location, 2845 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216.

Information as of 10/21/2020 - There are 68 confirmed cases currently linked to the convocation events that took place 10/4-10/11. Included in the confirmed cases mentioned above, is a cluster of six cases at Madison Saints Paradise South Independent Living. The facility reported that all residents have been tested for COVID-19. Among the 68 confirmed cases, there have been at least 4 hospitalizations and 2 deaths.

Public Health has attempted to contact 94 close contacts reported by the confirmed cases. If you have received a message from a contact tracer, please call our contact tracing hotline at 980-314-9401.

Public Health has also notified several local health departments in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey and New York to monitor for potential cases connected to these events.

Public Health advises anyone who attended events at the church Oct. 4 - Oct. 11 or who has been in contact with someone who attended events at the church on the dates mentioned above get tested for COVID-19. If you have COVID-19 like symptoms, please avoid close contact with anyone. In partnership with StarMed Health, Mecklenburg County Public Health will be offering no cost, drive-thru COVID-19 testing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Thursday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 23 at the Northwest Health Department location, 2845 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC 28216.
