AvidXChange Announces Expansion in Mecklenburg County

Trevor Fuller at podiumToday, Gov. Roy Cooper and County leaders announced the expansion of AvidXChange’s headquarters in Mecklenburg County. This expansion will bring 1,229 new jobs to Mecklenburg County over the next five years. Once all positions have been filled, the average annual salary will be $68,000. New employees’ salaries will vary depending on the position and experience.

“We are excited about the expansion of AvidXChange’s headquarters,” said George Dunlap, chairman of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners. “The company’s rapid growth points to future growth for our local economy and workforce. It’s important that we support the growth of companies that relocate to our County and the ones that started here in Mecklenburg County.”

AvidXChange’s expansion in Mecklenburg County was made possible, in part, by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) approved by the state’s Economic Investment Committee. Once approved, the state will provide a $19.6 million grant over the course of 12 years. The project will grow the state’s economy by an estimated $2.6 billion. The state will also provide an additional $1.7 million for employee training.

Mecklenburg County is supporting the investment through a Business Investment Program (BIP) grant of $2,084,836 over seven years. The County estimates an additional $41 million in net revenue over the seven-year grant.

This project is a collaborative effort between the North Carolina Governor’s Office, North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, Mecklenburg County, City of Charlotte, Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, Duke Energy, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.
