Summer is in full swing, but it’s not too early to begin planning for fall activities. Throughout the month of July, parents will be able to sign up their child (ages 3-10) for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation’s youth soccer and flag football leagues.
Participants begin practice in August and participate in an eight-game season beginning in September. Games are typically played on Saturdays at various athletic fields throughout the County.
The cost is $45-65 for the season, depending upon the child’s age, and includes a uniform.
Coaches are volunteers who are certified and background checked prior to the season. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact your local recreation center or complete the volunteer application form.
There are three ways to register: 1. Click on Eparks 2.0 at www.parkandrec.com, click on the "Activities" tab and search “soccer” and/or “flag” for recreation center offerings.2. Call the location where the program is offered.3. Come into a recreation facility. If you plan to register online or by phone, please pay with either a Visa, MasterCard or Discover card. Full payment is due at registration which is first come, first served. For more information about youth sports in Mecklenburg County, visit www.parkandrec.com.
