Mecklenburg County is soliciting this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select a Developer to finance, design, construct, and manage mixed-income housing on 14 acres of property in the Grier Heights neighborhood of Charlotte. The County desires a development that will stand the test of time, become a community asset, and provide housing options for those most in need. The selected developer will also be expected to engage the community in ways that include, but are not limited to, gaining input on the project elements, incorporating the historical context of Grier Heights, communication and marketing of the project, infusing remembrances, and partnering with organizations to provide homeownership readiness education. The County aims to achieve a development that is inclusive of a wide range of income levels with a focus on achieving long-term affordability.
