- You can view or print a pdf application for Food & Nutrition Services, Medical Assistance (Family & Children's Medicaid or Adult Medicaid), Work First Cash Assistance and Energy Crisis Intervention Program (CIP)/Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) at https://epass.nc.gov/.
- Paper applications can be returned in person, by mail or dropped off at either location.

Want to apply for additional programs?If you currently have an active case, you can also apply for additional programs online, returning a paper application to either location, by phone or walk in.
What do I need?The caseworker will check all electronic data sources and other available records for financial and non-financial eligibility factors. You may be asked to provide documentation to complete your application if the eligibility information is unavailable within the agency or from electronic data sources.

What to expect?
Eligibility is determined during the interview process or during the time prior to approval or denial of the application. The time standard for completing and processing an application varies for each program.
90-day time standard 45-day time standard

**Expedited service is an application processing method designed to provide benefits to certain households prior to the 30-day time standard. If eligible, benefits are issued within seven calendar days from the date of application.
Energy: CIP/LIEAP time standard
Energy programs provide households a one-time energy payment or assistance when experiencing a heating or cooling related crisis.

**payment could take up to 6 weeks or more to post to energy account

EXISTING CUSTOMERS
How do I renew my benefits?
All assistance programs require additional evaluation and renewal at least every 6 or 12 months. If your application is approved, you will receive a notice informing you of benefit beginning and end dates. For additional information about renewals for each program, please call the Economic Services Division Call Center at 704-336-3000.
