Playing the Game without a Coach

In this session,  my book, "Playing the Game without a Coach"  will be used as a pillar of hope for the youth and individuals who may be going through challenges. The main topics of discussion will be courage, resilience, forgiveness, and dedication.

Building Beyond This Moment: A Panel for Permanence *******REQUIRED SESSION

This informative panel will offer youth the opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of the experiences of former foster youth who achieved permanency through adoption, as well as through aging out of foster care with the help of supportive adults.  The panelists will share the insights, triumphs, and struggles encountered in their journey to adulthood and provide the audience with practical information to aid in their own journey to permanence and beyond.  Youth will also have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session, all designed to educate and empower them as they continue to navigate the path of building beyond their current moment to achieve a bright, fulfilling future.   Meet The Panel

"Redemption!"

Your life is all about choices. It's about understanding that you have the power to create or change your destiny. One of the most important lessons I have learned in life is not to let my past affect your future.

Everyone suffers, but what we do with that suffering makes all the difference. How will we use our pain to shape and determine our future? Will we torture ourselves just for the sake of it, or will we learn from our suffering, using it as a tool to enrich our future? When you change the way you think about your pain, your life will change in dramatic and inspiring ways.

HOPE is where the HEART is!

For many of youth who are placed in Foster Care System their lives are typically filled with fear, mistrust, and feelings of isolation due to a life of consistent uncertainty.  Each time a child is faced with a new placement, beneath the tough and uncaring exterior is a heart beaming with hope and the sincere desire of having a geniune connection with a a family, regardless of how temporary it may be for them. Hope is defined as a "feeling of expectation and desire for a certain things to happen."

During this session we will discuss basic techniques to implement this with every child by using the H.O.P.E model.

H – Healing and Happiness

O – Openness and Opportunity

P – Patience and Praise

E – Expectations and Experience

When you give a child HOPE, you're providing them with a glimpse of their future.
