Customer Connection (CC) is the formal name of the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services’ Call Center. Agents are available Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. By calling 704-336-3000 individuals can:
Request applications for DSS services
Check the status of their case
Obtain information and/or referrals to DSS or community programs
Request a replacement Medicaid card
Select a Medicaid Managed Care provider

Individuals who are eligible for Transportation through DSS can call the Customer Connection’s Transportation Scheduling line 704-336-4547. Callers can request a transportation eligibility assessment or schedule/cancel transportation.
To report suspected welfare fraud in Mecklenburg County please telephone the unit at 704-353-0600 from 8am-6pm, Monday thru Friday. If you do not wish to speak directly to an investigator you may call the Welfare Fraud Hotline at 704-353-0400.
