In the spring of 2000, the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County adopted the Center City 2010 Vision Plan. Among many recommendations, the plan included the suggestion of a large scale public park that will become the symbolic focus of Mecklenburg County and the city of Charlotte.
While progress has been slowed due to current adjacencies, our Park designers are proceeding with work on the construction drawings. While construction is delayed due to current economic conditions, the Park design team is working to complete the construction drawings. The project will be ready for construction as soon as Park Bonds can be sold.
