Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department believes in the value of inclusive leisure and recreation experiences for all members of the community regardless of their level of ability. The Department makes every effort to ensure inclusive opportunities in all Programs, Services and Activities including but not limited to parks, greenways, natural areas and preserves, facilities, programs, classes and special events.

- Q: Can I bring my service animal inside Park and Recreation Facilities?
- A: Yes, Park and Recreation Facilities welcome all working service animals (dog or miniature horse) into our facilities
- Q: Can I bring my emotional support animal inside Park and Recreation Facilities?
- A: We are currently working on that! Please bear with us while we work through this question!
- Q: What if I need someone to help me with changing for swimming or while I am in the pool? Can I bring someone with me as support?
- A: Yes, you are more than welcome to bring a personal assistant or personal aide with you to any facility, program or event.
- Q: Will my personal assistant or personal aide need to pay a fee?
- A: No, as long as your personal assistant or personal aide is there as your support and not as a participant, they will not be required to pay a fee.
