FAQ

When will Eastway Regional be open to the public?

We’re open now! Additional phases of opening including indoor activities and rentals will roll out through 2021.

What sets the Eastway Regional apart from other local health and wellness facilities?

Eastway Regional combines everything we do in Park and Recreation, through pillars of Health and Wellness, Conservation, and Equity. The Eastway site will provide almost all of our affordable recreation services, activities, and amenities at one site for the first time in Mecklenburg County.

How much will it cost to use Eastway Regional? Is there any financial assistance offered? Are there different types of passes available?

Depending on type of activity and target audience, Daily and Monthly rates are set by the Mecklenburg County Board of County Commissioners and approved annually. Current rates can be found on our Schedules and Rates page.

Activity rates vary depending on types and ages served, and follow departmental pricing policy for cost recovery.

All activities are competitively priced for the market. Several activities have financial assistance opportunities depending on qualifiers such as receiving specific types of government aid. For more information, contact the facility.

What types of activities and amenities will be available?

A list of our core activity areas can be found on the Activities and Amenities page. Activities will range from preschool to seniors in age, beginner to advanced in skill level, inclusive of all abilities, and a wide selection of services as well. Examples include aquatic and traditional fitness, youth and adult athletics, social and educational services, natural resources and conservation activities, arts, camps, private rental opportunities, and more.

Eastway Regional has reduced its user capacity to safely operate the fitness center. A maximum number of fifty (50) users will be permitted per time block. To provide equity to all users, visits will be limited to 50-minute time blocks starting at the :30 minute of the hour during our hours of operation.
