Devonshire Park | The Devonshire Park project will improve an existing park located at 6330 Barrington Dr. in Charlotte, NC. This 1.7 acre park includes a playground and walking trails. The Mecklenburg County Board of County Commissioners allocated $7 million to the improvement of existing local parks as a broader equity initiative. Devonshire Park is one of the ten parks that were selected to receive this funding.

Enderly Park Equity Project | Enderly Park, located in 1501 Enderly Rd, Charlotte, is an existing 8.4 acre park that includes a playground, picnic shelter with grill, a full-court basketball court, two tennis courts, a multipurpose field, and walking trails. In 2020, the Mecklenburg County Board of County Commissioners allocated $2 million for Equity Projects for the improvement of existing local parks. Enderly Park is one of the three parks selected to receive this funding. Funding for Equity Projects aims to bring D & F scoring parks up to current standards in an effort to advance equity. Construction on Independence Park continues to move forward. The first phase of the project, the ball field and athletic field near Charlottetowne Avenue, has been completed. The second phase of construction is currently underway from the ball field to Hawthorne Lane. This section of the park, which will include a new restroom area, playground, sport courts and improved trails, is scheduled to be completed in early Spring 2022. The final phase of the project, from Hawthorne Lane to the rose garden at Park Drive, will begin Winter 2022 and be completed Summer 2022. |
Irvins Creek Greenway - Idlewild Rd. to Lakeview Circle | This

Latta Nature Preserve Improvements & Nature Center | This capital project includes the master planning and development of a new Visitor Center and amenity improvements to the nature preserve. The Visitor Center is currently under construction with a projected substantial construction completion date of December 2019. Latta Plantation Nature Preserve is getting some needed upgrades and renovated amenities. The property will be getting new shelters and a renovated bathroom at the waterfront parking area at the end of Sample Rd., covered storage and work space at the County maintenance compound, repairs to the Historic Latta House, trail improvements, a new accessible canoe/kayak launch and a new 13,000 sf Visitor Center in partnership with the Carolina Raptor Center.
