​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Aquatic Center (MCAC) & 2nd Ward Gymnasium

The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center is a world class Natatorium. The Center includes a 50-meter competition pool, 25-yard therapeutic pool, fitness center, and hot tub.  Second Ward Gymnasium is adjacent to the Aquatic Center.

Under the Governor's orders, the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center continues to reduce its user capacity to safely operate the facility. Member and public swim lanes may accommodate one (1) person per lane. Swim teams may accommodate two (2) people per lane. The spa will have a maximum capacity of two people at any time. The warm pool will operate a dedicated lane for programming with the remainder of the pool accommodating 18 participants.

To provide equity to all lap swimmers, swimming will be limited to one-hour time blocks at the beginning of every hour in the 50m pool. Several lanes will be available to reserve online up to seven (7) days in advance with the remaining lanes operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Hours (pools close 30min prior to facility closing):

Monday & Wednesday: 5:30am-9:30pm (Main Tank Closed 1pm-4pm)

Tuesday & Thursday: 11:30am-9:30pm

Friday: 5:30am-1:30pm

Saturday & Sunday: Closed
