GIS Customer Service
Mecklenburg County GIS was formed in 1991 when the Mecklenburg County Cadastral Conversion Project began. The first GIS desktop application was delivered in 1993 to the Board of Elections for precinct splitting. The first Internet application, Voter Information Express, was delivered in 1997 for the Board of Elections. GIS Application Development has developed over thirty-five desktop, Intranet, and Internet applications.
Listed below are a few of the services we provide.
Database Management: We manage the GIS database for all Mecklenburg County enterprise data layers. We can work with most existing departmental relational databases or work with you to design custom data bases that meet you business requirements.
Project Management: We have extensive experience in GIS project management and are available to assist departments with all the phases of a GIS project from design through implementation.
Customer Support and Training: GIS provides application support by dialing 311.
Consulting Services: We offer consulting and education services to our customers interested in the use of GIS technology. GIS also assists customers, who desire software selection support, when purchasing third-party software that either uses GIS or can be integrated with GIS applications.
