Why is skipping a car trip good for air quality?

In our region, the primary source of ozone-forming NOx is mobile sources (cars). One of the best ways that you can help improve air quality locally is to skip a car trip! That might look different to different people, but every car trip avoided makes an impact. You can clean commute to work, don't drive during your lunch break, or carpool with friends to social gatherings!

ELIGIBLE TRIP REDUCTION ACTIVITIES include:

  • Telework
  • Vanpool
  • Carpool
  • CATS bus
  • LYNX train
  • Streetcar
  • Bike
  • Walk
  • eScooter
  • Don't drive at lunch
  • Trip chain (combine car trips)

Questions should be directed to Victoria Jercich.
