About the Air Quality Commission
The Air Quality Commission (AQC) was established in 2002 by the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). Informative details and guidelines are found in the

AQC Mission
Promote the protection, preservation, and enhancement of the ambient air resources of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
AQC Purpose
Provide citizen and stakeholder input to the BOCC, local municipalities, and MCAQ staff through the review and recommendations of air pollution management policies, long range plans, operations, and their budgetary impacts in order to achieve this mission.
Air Quality Commission Meetings
Meetings take place at 11:30 a.m. on the fourth Monday of every month. The public is always invited to attend AQC meetings to observe and provide comment. Sign up to receive the AQC's month agenda by email.
