HIV and STD screening is offered around Mecklenburg County to help individuals know their status and enable them to take steps to protect their own health and the health of others.

Non-traditional site testing allows improved access to screenings by providing testing at a variety of locations and alternate hours with no appointment needed.​

Services

  • Free and confidential screening for HIV and syphilis provided at all sites.
  • Screening for Hepatitis C, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea available based on need.
  • Information on PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) available.

How do I get my results?

Results are given seven days after* the day you were tested.
After seven days, there are four options to access your results:

  1. Call 1-855-790-8968
    • Enter the Unique ID given to you during your test visit, followed by #.
    • Enter your PIN (six digit date of birth, MMDDYY), followed by #.
  2. Website: www.mytestresults.com.
    • Enter customer number: 8557908968
    • Enter the Unique ID given to you during your test visit.
    • Enter your PIN (six digit date of birth, MMDDYY).
  3. Walk in to clinic A at either Health Department location. You do not need an appointment.

  4. Return to the community testing site to get a printed copy of your results.

 

*Please note: If you attempt to access your results before seven days from being tested, you may hear "I'm sorry that was an invalid unique identifier." Please allow 7 days or 5 business days to access your results. If after 5 business days from testing, you still receive an error please call 704-432-8378.

 

What if I need treatment?

If you have been exposed to an STD or are experiencing symptoms an appointment for treatment at a public health clinic is required. Appointments for additional screenings, a physical exam or medication can be made by calling 704-336-6500. 

Symptoms may include abnormal discharge, bumps, blisters or sores, difficulty urinating or sore throat. 

Community testing sites may provide referrals to an HIV/STD Public Health Clinic or community partner for additional treatment or testing.

Eligibility 

No eligibility requirements.

No appointment needed for testing.
