DSS Director Appointed to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Foundation Board
I would like to recognize Department of Social Services Director Peggy Eagan on her recent appointment to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Foundation Board (CMCF).
CMCF, which is managed by the Foundation for the Carolinas, benefits charities that support children and youth, environment causes, housing, and more.
Since its inception in 1995, the CMCF has given grants in excess of $30 million.
Peggy’s term will begin on Jan. 1, 2016 and run through Dec. 31, 2018 (with an opportunity for a renewal of one additional term)

Mecklenburg County will host a contractor outreach event on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Hal Marshall Center, 700 N. Tryon St. The information session will give County general contractors the opportunity to identify and pre-qualify Minority, Women and Small Business Enterprises and principal trade contractors who will submit bids for the following projects:

We will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the new home of the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency (LUESA) on Friday, Jan. 8, 2015 at 10 a.m. The building, which is the former site of the Charlotte School of Law, is located at 2145 Suttle Avenue.
Immediately following the dedication, you are invited to attend a small reception and tour the facility.If you are unable to attend, you can watch the ceremony live on County’s Periscope channel.
The LUESA relocation is part of Phase 1 of the County’s “Bringing Mecklenburg County to You” Government Facilities Master Plan. Happy Holidays
