Carolinas Freedom Foundation: The Carolinas Freedom Foundation was founded in response to former prisoner of war and retired Air Force Col. Quincy Collins' concerns about the lack of an organization in the area to promote patriotism. Each year, the Carolinas Freedom Foundation organizes nine programs and awards: the US Airways Freedom Breakfast, the Freedom Award, the Wreath Laying Ceremony, the Patriotic Art Competition, the US Airways Salute to Veterans Parade, the Flags in Classrooms Program, the Bank of America Shelton Leadership Challenge, and the AT&T Cadet Achievement Awards.

The Charlotte Vet Center: The Vet Center is a Department of Veterans Affairs healthcare program and is located at 2114 Ben Craig Dr., Suite 300Charlotte, NC. It provides readjustment counseling to combat veterans and veterans who experience trauma while on active duty.
Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont: Goodwill Industries is focused on strengthening families and has decided to focus on military families through their OPERATION INDEPENDENCE program which provides training and job placement assistance.
Korean War Memorial: On November 4, 2009 the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners urged every citizen to support the efforts of the Korean War Veterans of America in erecting a in the Town of Mint Hill on the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the war.
Mecklenburg County Veterans Council: The Council is an information sharing and veteran advocacy group for all military service organizations in Mecklenburg County, and meets the first Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in the Kitchen Room of the Hal Marshall County Services Center, 700 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte, N.C. (The Mecklenburg County Veterans Services Office is housed in the same building). There are more than 40 military service organizations in the County.
