CARE

CARE1.pngThe Counseling And Responding to DV Through Early Intervention program is for children age 2-5 and their non-offending parents who have experienced domestic violence.

CARE is a combination of developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions, parental support, and education.

Why is early intervention important when a young child experiences domestic violence?

            • Young children are often overlooked and their symptoms are often misunderstood
            • Early intervention can reduce behavioral, mood, and relational problems before unwanted patterns are established in young children and their caregivers
            • Early intervention can prevent future emotional/behavioral problems

Some possible effects of domestic violence exposure in young children include:CARE3.png
