The WAB Board consists of 15 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Appointments are made for 3-year terms with no one serving more than two consecutive terms. To apply for the board, please submit an application to the BOCC.
The WAB meets on the fourth Monday of each month from 5:30P to 7:00P.
The WAB meets at the Hal Marshall Building located at 700 N. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28202.
WAB Mission Statement
The mission of the Women's Advisory Board is to promote the critical and emerging needs of women in Mecklenburg County through education and service.
Purpose: The WAB is to identify periodically the status of women in Mecklenburg County; to recommend ways to work toward the betterment of the status of women in education, employment, family, community, health, law, finance, and social services; to work collaboratively with other organizations; and to provide community leadership opportunities by initiating and promoting programs designed to serve the needs of women.

WAB Board Membership
Any citizen of Mecklenburg County can apply for membership on the WAB by submitting an application to the Board of County Commissioners or the City Council.
