We are dedicated to promoting community engagement, providing opportunities, and receiving community input by staying involved with these teams and boards. We hope to help advocate for issues surrounding gender and domestic violence that members of the community feel needs to be addressed.
Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team
The mission of the Domestic Violence Fatality Review team is to prevent domestic violence deaths. The team reviews domestic violence fatalities in accordance with North Carolina Session Law 2009-52 in order to increase safety for victims and accountability for perpetrators of domestic violence. The intent is not to lay blame, but rather to improve all systems that serve persons involved with domestic abuse in order to prevent violence and fatalities.
The Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team produces periodic reports of findings stemming from intensive reviews. Women's Advisory Board (WAB)
The mission of WAB is to promote the critical and emerging needs of women in Mecklenburg County through education and service. WAB consists of 15 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Appointments are made for 3-year terms with no one serving more than two consecutive terms. The WAB meets on the fourth Monday of each month.

Domestic Violence Advisory Board (DVAB)
DVAB periodically reviews and evaluates all Charlotte and Mecklenburg County domestic violence services, and make appropriate recommendations to Charlotte City Council and the Board of County Commissioners to identify gaps, or need for additional services to meet the needs of victims of domestic violence and their children. They also provide vigorous advocacy for domestic violence and its related costs to victims and the community. Regular meetings are held monthly on the second Monday of the month at 6:15 PM.
