Details

In order to register you must be:

  • a U.S. citizen; and
  • a resident of North Carolina and Mecklenburg County for 30 days; and
  • at least 18 years old.
    • An individual may pre-register up to two years before their 18th birthday.
    • An individual who is 17 years old may vote in any primary associated with a general election that will occur after that individual turns 18.

You can register or update your registration electronically if you have a North Carolina Driver's license or an Identifcation Card from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicle.  Click here to update register or update electronically.

 

Requirements for removal from the voter registration rolls:

To remove your name from the Mecklenburg County voter registration rolls:
Please download and complete the Cancellation of Voter Registration Form.
 
To remove a near relative's name due to death:
 Please download and complete the ​Notifica​​​tion of Deceased Voter Form.
